Have you heard of the tricolor ornada Fish? If you haven't, let me tell you about them! The tricolor ornada Fish has been around since the 1930s and was originally found in the Amazon River basin in South America. It gets its name from the three color spots placed evenly down the sides of the fish. This gives it an attractive look, making it very popular among hobbyists who keep tropical freshwater fish as pets. Recently, these lovely fish have become more popular with both hobbyists and breeders alike because they are easy to care for if certain precautions are taken.
General Facts About The Species
The tricolor ornata, also called painted tetra, is a freshwater fish native to South America. It belongs to the Characin family of tropical fish which are commonly kept in aquariums due to their wide variety of colors and patterns. Painted Tetras are peaceful community fish but are territorial about their home range. They thrive in soft, warm water with low-to-moderate plant growth. Painted Tetras should be maintained in groups of at least five for best results.
The diet of a tricolor ornata Angelfish is fairly standard, but there are a few details you should be aware of. The first thing you should know is that they are carnivores, so feeding them anything other than meat will just cause your fish undue stress. They need to have large amounts of protein in their diet to maintain their coloring and keep them healthy. The second thing you should know about these fish is that they require live foods, specifically live brine shrimp or other crustaceans. If you can't provide these items for your fish, there's a chance it could lose its coloration over time or grow very thin trying to obtain all its nutrients from frozen food.
Why Should I Get One?
If you're looking for a fairly easy pet to take care of, then a South American Rainbow fish should be at or near the top of your list. The tank they live in should provide them with plenty of places to hide and plenty of room for swimming. Adding other types of small schooling fish in with them would also be good because their coloration will fade if they aren't kept in groups. If you're interested in getting a rainbow fish as a pet, make sure you look into how much space it needs and what type of food it eats before purchasing one.
How Do I Keep Them?
First and foremost, you want a fish tank. This is where your pretty fishes will live and swim around. They require space, so it's best that you get a big tank for them. Avoid getting too small a tank as that makes it harder for them to find food if they're hiding in a corner. It'll also stress them out more since they don't have enough room to roam around and explore their surroundings. A general rule of thumb is that you should get about five gallons of water per one inch of fish.
