The Post-Op Bra:
This is more of a supportive garment than a bra. This compression garment is not only helpful for healing but also essential. This is the bra you will wear for the first week or so after surgery. This garment is provided to you by the hospital and you will be sent home wearing it. This garment will help minimize swelling, speed up the healing process, and keep the implants in their position.
The Supportive Sports Bra
Once you have suitable healed, it's important to let your body adjust to its new state. It would be unwise to put fashion over your health and safety. Hence you must wear a supportive sports bra. Again, you will have many brands and styles of sports bras to choose from. Pick one that provides support and comfort. Avoid wearing any underwire or push-up bras for at least 2 months after the surgery. They can give rise to complications during the recovery phase.
The “indulgence” Bra
Once you are past the state of worrying and being careful, by all means, you can overindulge yourself. Your body is now ready for all the splurge that you can manage. Ensure that you buy the bra that fits you comfortably and gives you the best shape. However, make certain that you are no longer bothered by any residual swelling or remnants of the surgery.
