Though people nag about the weather in this season, its one of my favorite season. People wear layers of warm clothes to keep themselves warm, definitely replicating the trends we watch on our favorite English TV series. Use darker shade curtains with thicker fabric: Replace your curtains with darker shades curtains. Dark shade curtains will help to absorb sunlight and also keep the room warm. Keep the curtains drawn in the evenings so that air doesn’t pass in. Thicker fabrics will create obstacle for chilly air.
Let sunlight fall in: In the day time open up the windows so that natural light will fall in directly. The sun rays that fall will keep the room warmer.
Use candles: Utilize the candles that you have at home. Lit them up in the evenings that will add more warmth to the house. The advantage of candles is that it creates a peaceful environment that brings backs the emotions to life. It’s a magical moment that is much needed in everyone’s life.
Room heaters would help: Use the conventional room heaters to heat up the room. These heaters are cheap and easy to install and of utmost use during the winter season. Using this appliance is easy and it heats the room fast and makes it cosy for the people living in there.
Change your food styles: Include more warming vegetables in your diet that provide warmth and nourishment. Carrot, potatoes, radish are a good pick. Dry fruits like dates and nuts are good. Poultry and sea food are full of rich proteins and are the ideal food for winters. In the evenings go for piping hot soups to maintain the balance in diet. Hot tea and coffee are also very helpful.
Winter is the perfect season to stay home. Eating the right food and having a good comfortable sleep is what we think winter is about. Use this time to snuggle up in your blanket and read your favorite book or watch your favorite movie. Stay indoors and spend some quality time with your loved ones. Winter will go away before we even know so make sure you have some winter fun before the heat again sets in.
