How to Avoid Duplicate Content on Your Site ?

Firstly check your website content by using any content duplicate checker tool. IF you got 10-20% duplicacy then it's ok with it. But be sure that your website content is not more than 20% duplicate. If it is then change it first, as google read it as a duplicate content and spam it.
After doing this remember when you add any blog into your site or submit any content related to your site into other submission sites then firstly check content duplicacy.

Google does not recommend blocking crawler access to duplicate content on your website, whether with a robots.txt file or other methods. A better solution is to allow search engines to crawl these URLs, but mark them as duplicates by using the rel="canonical" link element, the URL parameter handling tool, or 301 redirects.

You can download the screaming frog web crawler and use it to crawl 500 pages for free. This application lets you do a lot of different things, including finding duplicate content problems.
