The Show Everyone Is Talking About - Strictly Come Dancing

Ever since it first aired back in 2004, Strictly Come Dancing (or Strictly as it is now affectionately called) has united the entire country. It has everyone talking after the weekend about the performances and the results, and in this time it has become a huge part of UK culture and a show that is enjoyed by both men and women of all ages. In the show, 14 recognisable celebrities are paired with 14 professional dancers, and each week the pair will have to perform a new dance in a battle against the other contestants. Voting then takes place to decide who stays in the competition and progresses.

The costumes and theatrical side of things add glitz and glamour and certainly make it visually appealing, whilst there is also a great deal of humour from the celebrity dancers and judges, but you will also learn a lot about different dance styles and cultures too. This makes it appealing on a number of different levels, and the new celebrity contestants each season keeps it fresh and this is why it has remained so popular for over a decade. The show airs on BBC One with performances on Saturday night and results on Sunday evening, keeping viewers engaged for the weekend and giving them plenty to talk about back at work on Monday morning.

The show also goes out on large live tours after the conclusion of a series where the celebrities, their partners and judges tour the UK and give fans a chance to see the action up close and with the buzz and excitement of a live event. For fans getting Strictly Come Dancing tickets is the ultimate thing as they don’t miss a chance to see their favourite stars up-close and personal. The show naturally lends itself well to live shows due to the glitz and glamour of the performances, with these tours getting as much attention as the programme itself.

The latest series of Strictly, season 12, featured the likes of Pixie Lott, Scott Mills, Jake Wood, Caroline Flack and Frankie Bridge with Tess Daly and Claudia Winkelman as presenters. The judging panel was comprised of Bruno Tonioli, Len Goodman, Craig Revel Horwood and Darcey Bussell. It was another stunning series packed full of incredible dances to some memorable songs along with plenty of amazing costumes, but it would be Caroline Flack and Pasha Kovalev to be the last pair standing after performing the Charleston in the final.

It will be a while before the TV show makes a return in 2015, but already the question on everyone’s lips is who will be taking part in the 13th season. The celebrities add an enormous amount of appeal and comedy to the show with many people tuning in to see their favourite celebrity and to see if they have what it takes. Strictly has become a huge topic of conversation and one of the most watched TV shows in recent times, and this is because it provides so much great entertainment over the entire weekend. The celebrities, humour, costumes, dances, interactions with judges and the nature of competition means Strictly has something for everyone.

I am a big fan of Strictly Come dancing and have been present at their shows multiple times in the city. Big Ticket Shop is a nice comparison shop for tickets – use it to know it!
